Interactive Vegetation Index Computing
The Sentinel-2 Vegetation Index Visualizer is an interactive Google Earth Engine (GEE) tool that lets users draw a polygon, select a date, and instantly compute dozens of vegetation indices from Sentinel-2 imagery. The app automatically applies cloud masking, overlays indices on RGB basemaps, and displays a dynamic color legend for interpretation.
Developed at the Digital Agriculture Laboratory, UC Davis, this tool supports vegetation monitoring, crop health assessment, and environmental research applications.
How to Use the App
1️⃣ Draw Polygon
Use the drawing tools to create a polygon over your area of interest for vegetation analysis.
2️⃣ Select Date
Choose your date of interest to retrieve the corresponding Sentinel-2 imagery for analysis.
3️⃣ Choose Index
Select from 16+ vegetation indices including NDVI, EVI, SAVI, NDCI, and specialized indices.
4️⃣ Analyze Results
View cloud-masked results with dynamic color legends overlaid on RGB basemaps for interpretation.
